Native Instruments has announced a limited offer that gives buyers a full version of the flagship Traktor Pro 2 software with a purchase of either the Traktor Kontrol X1 decks and effects controller, or the Traktor Kontrol Z1 compact DJ mixer.
A full version of Traktor Pro 2 usually retails for US$99, so getting it free with a purchase of either of these two Traktor controllers is a tangible saving. The Traktor Kontrol X1 (currently in its mk2 guise) is a great standalone device for hands-on control of Traktor, and also makes for an ideal DVS companion when you’re playing at clubs that have CDJs or turntables (do note that you’ll need a Traktor Scratch-compatible interface or mixer for DVS).
The Traktor Kontrol Z1, on the other hand, makes for a cost-effective two-channel mixer that you can take anywhere, and also has the added functionality of being able to interface with Traktor DJ, which is the iOS counterpart of Traktor Pro.
Whether or not this offer was rushed out as a spoiler for the Akai Pro controllers launched yesterday, if you wanted one of these units anyway – you win. Offer valid until 31 August, 2014.
• The Traktor Kontrol X1 and Traktor Kontrol Z1 retail at US$199 each. Buyers can download their full copy of Traktor Pro 2 after online registration.
Does a free copy of Traktor Pro 2 entice you enough to pick up one of these controllers? Or if you have a copy of Traktor already but are still planning on getting one of these controllers, what do you plan to do with the extra copy of the full version?
